Finca La Praderas is an 85 hectares farm with over 350,000 trees combined with fruit trees like bananas and oranges and timber to help create a diverse environment for shade grown coffee. With rich soils and with abundant crystal-clear water sources, La Pradera has earned its recognition in coffee farming in Santander, Colombia. Owned by the Daza Family for 3 generations, Oscar was raised in strong family values and respect for agriculture, and with the help of his wife Mildred, is pushing the boundaries of his coffee every harvest with his commitment to quality. We can still find his father Hector, controlling the daily processing of coffee and making sure the family tradition will continue through his grandchildren Oscar Duban and Edward Yesid.
La Pradera (the meadow) is a rich and flavourful coffee with notes of dark chocolate and honey coming through very clearly. The coffee has a medium body and less acidity, giving it a really rounded balance and a rich aftertaste. It's a great coffee that pairs well with fruity desserts and a true celebration of Colombian coffee. Definitely one to try.
